This activity came about quite by accident – it was very toddler led (J helped to entertain his little sister T today) but my 4 and a half month old loved it and so simple. Sorry about the lack of Photographs with this but we were having too much fun to take any.

How the fun happens
Lay the baby on the floor and with a ball pit ball place on their upper chest and move it around near their hands. Watch as the baby bats the ball to the side – tests the taste with their tongue and uses their developing grip to move it from their chest and “throw” to the side.
We did this for about 15 mins today and my toddler helped as well (he started it) T loved it each time the ball went somewhere different and she would giggle away and kick and when the ball was placed back on her she laughed and repeated the movements again.
This activity was great it allowed my toddler to interact with the baby and could easily be done with just a baby and an adult. When looking at what it helps to develop both gross and fine motor development are covered and of course my little T loved it.
