Summer Crafts for Busy Mums

With the summer holidays on the way it’s time to get stocked up with some quick and easy crafts kits ideal for those spur of the moment crafting sessions and rainy days which you know are bound to happen. Keeping a Holiday Book

Over the summer your kids can easily drop a grade with the summer slide so keeping up doing a little reading, writing and maths are important and we’re keeping a holiday book yellow moon has a set of blank notebooks which are ideal decorated and then we can keep a journal, add lists and were easy to decorate.

Because we have a group of kids with us over the summer as we head off on vacation and days out we started off decorating with our names and then used some of the seaside scene foam stickers to decorate ideal for even then littlest hands to use and decorate their books.

Garden Projects

Spending so much time outside we do love creating crafts that we can then use outside in the garden like our stone plant markers or our windsock, but sometimes a quick and easy craft is good and these Gnome Wooden Windchimes are easy to decorate with markers or paint – we choose markers and then hung them in the garden and they produce a lovely sound as the breeze goes through the garden.

Rainbow Fish Boxes

One of our favourite stories is The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister and using some of the Fish Craft Boxes from the Yellow Moon range we used tissue paper and then glued them on to create our own rainbow fish. In our group for summer crafting, we had a 2, 4, 5 and almost 6-year-old.

With different skill sets, they were all able to tear up the tissue paper and then they either stuck the tissue paper or screwed it up to create a textured effect to the top of the box.
