Sugar Free Chocolate Chip and Candy Cookies
My kids come back from school starving and yes I could give them healthy snacks but as they eat healthy all day they tend to have a cookie of some description – Rainbow Candy Crunch Cookies are one of their favourites however they also love Chocolate Chip Cookies. This week we have been giving up sugar in partnership with Canderel and their #SweetSmart campaign, so I decided to experiment with a sugar free version of their favourite chocolate chip cookies.
Ingredients for Sugar Free Chocolate Chip and Candy Cookies
2 ripe medium sized bananas
1 cup of porridge oats
1/4 cup of milk chocolate chip cookies
small handful of Sugar Coated Candies in Rainbow colours – around 9 large or 18 smaller M&M’s
Recipe
Preheat the oven to 180C (350F) and line a baking tray with some baking or greaseproof paper
Peel the bananas and mash them up in a bowl with the fork, then add in a cup of porridge oats. Mix these together add the chocolate chip and candies
Spoon out the mix onto a baking tray – this made around 9 good sized cookies
Place on the centre of the oven for 12 – 15 minutes until golden brown then take out and leave to cool.
These make a banana and chocolate cookie with the added energy boost of the oats perfect for kids that love bananas and need that slow release energy when they get home from school.
