New Experiences – Going to school

Last week I meantioned how we are preparing J for preschool come September and one of the ways is with reading books about School and preschool.

We have chosen a preschool that is play based so have loved reading First Time Nursery which includes lots of the activities that J will be doing in the following year.

From the book we’ve been Building Sandcastles – over on Playful Learning I wrote a post on our Recipe for Sandcastle Success.

We have spent time reading different books together with friends like he will experience at preschool and even hosted a Picture Book Picnic.

We’ve been playing with playdough and having fun connecting it to books as well – one of the things that I love about the preschool is that they have a story book curriculumn so a lot of the organised activities will be book based.

The coming year will be full of new experiences for J and also for me as a parent and as part of the new series from Child’s Play International. Some of the new titles will be great – we know that we have a first trip in the middle of September so are looking for when the new books appear on the Child’s Play International website to order.
