What You'll Find on This Page
The North Wind Doth Blow
One of my favourite Nursery Rhymes for winter The North Wind Doth Blow is a classic British song featuring our lovely little red-breasted Robin which is one of the main winter birds in the UK.
The north wind doth blow and we will have snow,
and what will the poor Robin do then?
He'll sit in a barn, and keep himself warm,
With his head hid under his wing, poor thing.
Five Little Snowmen
There are two different versions of Five Little Snowmen is ideal to sing with your fingers to represent the five little snowmen especially if you use our little snowmen finger puppets check out below for the second version which is more like the Five Little Pumpkins Song that we love for Halloween.
Five little Snowmen standing in a line,
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
So fine!
Melt in the sunshine with a sigh!
We'll see you next year!
Bye Bye!
As the snowman melts put down your finger and repeat the verse with four, then three, then two and then one snowman, making sure that you count 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.. as well and not all the way to 5.
Once you have sung this and other Five Little Snowmen Nursery Rhyme why not leave out a felt board which goes with the Rhyme this is a cute one with melted snowmen available from an Etsy Seller, however, there are many others that you could buy if you like a different version.
I'm a little Snowman
Sung to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot, I'm a Little Snowman is a short and sweet rhyme ideal to use with actions as the snowmen gets ready to great the children.
I'm a little snowman, short and fat,
Here's my scarf!
And here's my hat!
When I see the snowflakes, hear me shout!
All you children, please come out!
Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush
Another classic British one Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush in the original version is a cold and frosty morning perfect for singing in Winter with your tots.
Here we go round the mulberry bush,
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush.
Here we go round the mulberry bush,
On a cold and frosty morning!
You can then add your own "winter" themed verses to this just singing along to the same tune. So "This is the way we put on our mittens", or scarf, shovel the snow, build a snowman the possibilities are up to your imagination, just make up some actions to go with as well.

Come Sing a Song of Winter
Sang to the tune "Did you Ever See a Lassie?" Come Sing a Song of Winter is a quick and short song ideal for singing with preschoolers and toddlers.
Come sing a song of winter, of winter, of winter!
Come sign a song of winter, the cold days are here!
With Winter winds blowing, and cold cheeks a glowing!
Come sing a song of winter, the cold days are here!
Snowflake Snowflake
Another fun action rhyme for your toddlers and you to sing and dance to Snowflake Snowflake is sung to the tune of Teddy Bear Teddy Bear
Snowflake, snowflake, dance around!
Snowflake, snowflake, touch the ground!
Snowflake, snowflake, soft and white!
Snowflake, snowflake, snowball fight!
Snowflake, snowflake, in the air!
Snowflake, snowflake, EVERYWHERE!
Make your own Snowflakes to Throw into the Air
Use a snowflake punch and some white tissue paper and create some biodegradable snowflakes which you can use for throwing into the air when you sing this song. So much more environmentally friendly than the foil and glitter snowflakes that you can buy.
Five Little Snowmen
This second version of Five Little Snowmen is like the classic Halloween Nursery Rhyme Five Little Pumpkins and is chanted in a similar way.
Five Little Snowmen on a snowy day,
The first one said, "Come on let's play!"
The second one said, "Let's stomp on the ground!"
The third one said, "Let's roll it all around!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm afraid I feel the sun"
"Oh, Dear" cried the snowmen, as they looked up at the sky!
And the Five Little Snowmen waved a fond goodbye!
