Animal Boogie – Getting Active – free printable
As I said yesterday the book Animal Boogie is one of our current favourites and I have been wanting to do an activity with it for a while. So inspired by Toddler Approved’s post for the Virtual Book Club for the Very Quiet Cricket to create some movement cards to go with the book and CD.
We have been playing this with the CD in the order that they are in the book but T is a fan of mixing it up and selecting the cards that I have printed out and getting us to do the actions – she’s trying to mimic them and causing both J and I to laugh a lot with the T versions of the activities.
I thought about laminating the cards but I haven’t got around to that yet instead I have printed onto some card stock – I ended up printing it out 3 times so that we could mix it all up and get some repetition if need be.
How fun! Just wanted to invite you to stop by and link up your Children Book inspired post (New or Old) in our 6 Week Summer Reading Adventure http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2012/06/12/summer-reading-adventure-week-1-tickle-monster/.
Have a great week!

Cerys I love these! Such a fun way to get kids moving AND teach about animal movements! Visiting from The Sunday Showcase. Thanks for linking up!
They are loving playing with them 🙂 it’s a lot of fun to do with or without following the order of the book
Sound like lots of fun! I have a similar game we play in storytime using From Head to Toe by Eric Carle. We also love mixing up the actions to create crazy dances.
Ohhh I haven’t read that Eric Carle book it sounds great will have to hunt it out the activity sounds fun 🙂
