Kid-Friendly Gingerbread Cookie Recipe
A simplified Gingerbread Cookie recipe that is ideal to make with children of all ages. Perfect for baking some gifts to say Thank You year round.

Ingredients

Self Raising Flour

Bicarbonate of Soda

Cinnamon

Caste Sugar
(Superfine Sugar)

Golden Syrup
(Light Corn Syrup)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 190C (adjust as you would normally for your oven!) and oil some baking sheets or line with greaseproof paper.
Put the flour, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon and sugar in a bowl and mix together.
In a small pan add butter and golden syrup and melt over a LOW HEAT.
When melted pour over the other ingredients and mix together with a wooden spoon.
Once it is mixed knead to make a smooth dough.
Lightly dust a surface and rolling pin with flour and roll out to around 5mm thick.
Cut out your cookies using cookie cutters
Lay out on a lined or greased baking tray
Place in oven for between 5 and 12 minutes - check regularly until lightly golden brown
Leave to cool on a rack and then decorate as you wish
