If you know you are going to be stuck at home the day before do this before you go to bed and then when they wake up and will be happy playing this and you can get on with things at the start of the day.

Have you ever noticed that if you spend some time with your toddler just focused on them then afterwards they will play content for a long while afterwards?

It’s great!

Games are a fun way to do this. There are a beginning and endpoints and if you go to quickly then you can always play again.

So even if you are stuck at home you can get outside in the garden if you have one.

Growing Seeds with Toddlers

One of the things toddler love is getting in the soil and you can grow seeds with your toddlers at any time of the year.

We have a list of plants that grow quick that are ideal to grow with toddlers.

But, don’t worry if you don’t grab some soil from the garden and raid your fruit and vegetables.

  • Apple pips will grow well in soil but don’t expect an apple tree anytime soon.
  • Tomato seeds can be grown as well.
  • Have an orange or lemon the pips in those will sprout too!
  • Even an avocado seed can be grown so there are plenty of options

You can make seed trays for them from egg cartons and watch them grow on your window sill.

Blowing Bubbles

We’ve put this as an outdoor activity as it can go everywhere when the bubble burst.

You don’t even have to leave the house to get bubble mix either just make your own with our classic bubble mixture recipe.

Bubble Mix just like your Mom Made - easy to make no need to pop to the store and it works really well

Not got any bubble wands – then do like we did and make them from pipe cleaners so simple.
