Thanksgiving Books for Toddlers and Preschoolers
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and a few of my American readers have asked that I suggest some great picture books for Thanksgiving that they can share with their toddlers and preschoolers so I’ve asked my family and friends that live in the USA and here’s what they recommended to me that their kids and they have enjoyed reading together. Thanksgiving is a time to count our blessings and enjoy a meal with family, which means there are a lot of downtime while Thanksgiving dinner is cooking! If you’re looking for a great thing to do while you’re waiting or just to get your kids excited for the upcoming holiday, you can’t go wrong with these Thanksgiving books. They’re great for your little ones and include fun stories your kids will love.

It’s turkey time! Inspired by one of my favourite Christmas Stories of all time this Thanksgiving adaption is great. The Night Before Thanksgiving is an adorable story that will teach your kids about all the excitement and fun that comes the night before Thanksgiving. We had a few others in this series in our collection and my kids loved reading them before the events.

One of my friends recommended this one because she said she really wanted to instil that Thanksgiving is really about giving thanks for all that have and this book does just that.

Another favourite set of books that are just plain fun. I Know An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Pie is a story about a Thanksgiving pie that is really too dry as the old lady swallows an entire feast! It’s funny and silly and goes along with the classic children’s rhyme really well.
