I often get asked whether I can review products on Rainy Day Mum and I normally say no thank you as they don't fit in with what I believe or what I think that you as a Rainy Day Mum reader would like to hear about and for me to recommend. However, when I was asked to review SunSense Sun Protection - Australia's leading brand of sun cream I felt that it was something that fitted and that you would be interested in as well as a Rainy Day Mum reader.
It's starting to feel a lot like Summer in the UK and we've had the paddling pool out in the garden this weekend. Now as you may have seen both J and T are very fair and after spending a lot of my teens with burnt bits from days spent in the sunshine and wearing the wrong factor of sun cream I'm very very religious about putting on sun cream on the kids. Just before 10 the sun cream goes on for the day and it get reapplied after lunch and then any time that they are in and out of the pools.
SunSense is all Factor 50+ perfect for my kids and me (all fair skinned and prone to burning) and allows us to play outside all day long in the sunshine. With a variety of different products for Toddlers and Family I was very impressed. My favourite by far is the Toddler Milk - one of the things that I hate about applying sun cream to the kids is how thick it is, or how difficult it is to rub in. The Toddler Milk Factor 50+ comes in a roll on - just like deodorant. It's perfect for the kids - we roll it on all over their arms, legs, body, face and neck and then rub it in. With no PABA derivatives or lanolin it's easy to rub in and last for ages. The roll on is the small size for bags - but for us that is perfect to stick into our trip bag or keep on the side in the kitchen and roll on as and when needed.
I used the SunSense Ultra on myself and it was great again it's also PABA derivative free and no lanolin it was like a milk easy to rub in and covered really well - the tell was that after spending a day in the garden I wasn't burnt and looked healthy. I also tried the SunSense Daily Face - it's a lightly tinted SPF 50+ sun-cream specially designed for your face. Again was perfect for me - it had a matte finish and didn't look like I was wearing anything as that is my normal look.

My nearly 3 year old's absolute favourite outdoor activity this year is gardening. All the family have been involved in digging and weeding (even grandparents) and so far we have created a mini beast hotel, a dinosaur land and are growing veg to feed to the guinea pigs. Fingers crossed for lots more sunny garden days!
