Stamped pumpkin Happy Halloween Bunting
This is another easy Halloween project for Kids and you to make together and adds a homemade twist to your Halloween decoration. We also used it as a learning element for my eldest who is learning to read and spell.
Materials for Stamped Pumpkin Happy Halloween Bunting
Apple
Orange Paint
White Paper/Cardstock
Green and black Marker
Scissors
Decorative Paper to make the bunting
String for hanging
Hole Punch
Stamping Pumpkins
If you didn’t wish to stamp the pumpkins you could find an image and print out to make the pumpkins for the bunting but we love stamping and an apple is the perfect shape for a pumpkin especially as we have a few left from apple picking in the early autumn.
Cut the apple in half through the stem and to make it easier to stamp with the apple I always cut a handle into the apple on the reverse side. Cut down about half way through the apple and then across to meet this cut. Do the same on the other side of the apple and you have a handle that the kids can use to make printing easier.
Then print the pumpkins with orange paint a number of times on the paper. We went mad printing and printed way over what we needed for the bunting but that was perfect as it gave us enough for another activity. At the minimum you will need 15 pumpkins stamped for the banner – we used 18 in our banner.
Leave to dry and then using a green marker add a stem to the pumpkins and cut around leaving a small white border to the pumpkins.
Why not create your own DIY life-sized skeletons with the kids.
Happy Halloween Banner
Using decorative paper cut out the number of “flags” that you will need for the bunting. We decided upon a mottled transparent paper that was A5 in size. I cut the paper in half and then we put a simple triangle cut in the bottom perfect “flags” for our bunting.
Glue on the Pumpkins to the flags.
On the pumpkins write Happy Halloween – I left my eldest J to do this and he wrote Happy fine as it was a recent sight word – when it came to Halloween he sounded it out using his phonics knowledge and we came up with H a LL o w EE N on different flags – perfect for him and something that we can put up each time.
With our spare pumpkins we decorated them with some jack-o-lantern faces. J drew the faces himself with scary mouths.
For T (3 and a half) I drew a face outline for her and then she coloured it in.
Hole punch across the top and then thread string/yarn through and string up ready for Halloween.
We’ve added our Easy Halloween Jack-o-lanterns above the bunting and they make perfect quick and easy to make Halloween decorations for the home that kids came make.
