Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer – brought to you by Fireflies and Mud Pies

As I child I learnt the song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and now at the ages of 3 and 5 both my children can sing along as I do with it in the car or without music playing just for fun bringing back memories of me and my mum singing together with my brother each Christmas time. Today Melissa from Fireflies and Mud Pies brings us the book and the cutest craft for kids to make from natural materials as part of Story Book Advent.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - pine cone ornaments for the tree

Little did I know that Rudolph and his story started off as a book in the 1930’s, a promotional Christmas Story from a large department store, but Melissa knows her stuff and I’ve now got something to add to my knowledge just from reading about the book. Her craft a pine cone Rudolph ornament is lovely and simple to do with kids, I would head out on a nature walk to gather your supplies and then sit together to create this wonderful little ornament for the tree together as part of today’s story book advent, all the extra’s are items that are in your normal crafting kit for kids and easy to find if not.
