Nothing quite finishes off a family meal like a dessert and although we love baking and spending time in the kitchen sometimes you just need desserts and puddings that are really quick and easy to make. So we’ve put together our favourite quick and simple desserts and puddings that our whole family loves. Yes, even the fussy eaters!
Quick Dessert Recipes the Family will Love
For a recipe to be quick it needs to be easy to prepare and go from start to finish in a matter of 30 minutes or less!
That means it is possible to help the kids with their homework, sort out the school bags for tomorrow and still have a delicious pudding at the end of the dinner.
One of our favourite desserts for a rainy day, that is quick easy to make is our simple apple crumble. Made with our basic crumble mix recipe the longest time is taken to peel and core the apples. However, it’s worth that little time as this is perfect served with warm custard or vanilla ice-cream.
Looking for another variation on the crumble – why not try a Blueberry Crumble that we shared over on 3 Boys and Dog.
Easy and fast is the name of the game when it comes to our baked apple pies with filo pastry. Just serve these with some whipped cream for a dessert that is good enough for a party.
Anything that uses a ready-rolled pastry or crescent rolls is going to be fast to make. These Apple Butter Crescents from Crystal and Co are one of the recipes that we used to make regularly when we had old apple trees in our garden.
Although my kids ask for my lazy waffle recipe after any sleepovers. Served with some ice-cream or just chocolate sauce they are ideal for making for afters.
Another easy quick dessert is this Blueberry Cake Mix Cobbler from 3 Boys and a Dog. I keep a box of cake mix in the cupboard just for this since I tried it for the first time.
After visiting Mexico last summer my kids are obsessed with Mexican food and when browsing Pinterest I came across these delicious Dessert Nachos from Ruffles and Rainboots. They’ve now become a favourite anytime we have Fajitas.
We love a quick pudding and bread and butter pudding is the ideal way to use up any bread that is going stale as well as throw together a fast dessert that the family loves.
Of course, given the kids choice, they would happily switch the traditional bread pudding above for their favourite Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding. Just as quick and easy to make this tastes amazing.
Looking for a festive alternative why not try Eggnog Bread Pudding. It’s easy to make and with cranberries throughout looks fantastic.
Slow Cooker Desserts that Are Quick to Make
Yes, I know that the idea of a slow cooker is that they take a long time to make. But, I really do find that it’s quick. Throw all the ingredients in, in the morning and then serve at the end of the day!
Rice Pudding in the slow cooker is fantastic – it turns out super-rich and creamy. Our Slow Cooker Apple and Cinnamon Rice Pudding is perfect for warming you up on a cold winters day.
