We have been reading ABC Animal Rhymes for you and me as part of The Imagination Tree’s 5 a day books and under the letter J is Jelly FIsh. So to tie in with the book this week we made Paper Plate Jelly Fish – although J likes to call them Octopus as he’s become obsessed with Octopus recently.

How the fun happens
Cut a paper plat in half and then I let J have free reign with the paints. This time I gave him 3 different colours from the ELC bright finger paints as they worked well with the coloured paper that we were going to use. If you haven’t used the finger paints they have a slightly gritty texture which once he had decorated 1 of the jelly’s bodies al he wanted to do was play with the textured paints – so we returned to it after almost half an hour and finished off the other 3 bodies.
I then hung them up to dry using my sock drying rack and after they were dry we tore up strips of paper and using sticky tape attached the tentacles to the back of the Jellies.
