Made with Love – Ladybug Button Art
Welcome back to Made with Love with Angelique Felix.com, Mommy Labs and Rainy Day Mum – a linky to show off your me time activities. I had so much fun looking through the amazing activities that you did in your free time for yourselves or your children last month.
I am working on creating things for T’s room at the moment and wanted to show you how to make a cute little button art ladybug that I made for her room.
I love buttons and any clothes that get up-cycled I remove the buttons and place in a jar – I also buy buttons when I see them – not always sure what I am going to do with them, but when I was hunting on EBay I found across bags of red and black buttons which I had to buy to make a picture for T’s room.
This is so easy to make. Starting with a small square canvas I drew a very rough outline of a ladybug on it. I picked out all of the similar sized red buttons (this used 100 red buttons) and found 7 bigger black buttons and a few smaller black buttons for the head area.
Using PVA glue I put a small amount onto each area and stuck the buttons in place, I found it easier to work in sections of about 5 or 6 buttons at a time filling in the shape. As you can see I took the picture when it was still wet but as I used PVA glue it has dried completely clear and you can’t tell that it was glued.
If you would like to try this I would love to see some of your creations in your me time – why not post about it or share a picture with us on facebook.
Now to our featured post from last months linky – it’s this gorgeous Sensory Story Box from The Golden Gleam for the book The Mole’s in Love. I have just started using sensory boxes with J and T and really loved the idea of basing it around a story that is much read and loved within a family. The little moles are just the cutest and it looks to have provided hours of fun. Thank you for linking up Rebekah and look forward to seeing your me time activities this month as well.
And now to this months link party – please add any post that you have done yourself, whether a craft, recipe (I would love to see some of these as love food), home makeover, gardening project etc…. basically your me time activity.
It would be great if you could either grab our badge from the sidebar on the right and insert into the post that you link or somewhere on your blog or leave a text link back to us – also check out our Made with Love pinterest board where all posts linked up area added.
Wall grilles are a solid investment in a soft economy. Now you can buy your complete art stuff online through galleries and museums.
As far as art for childrens room is concerned there are many types, wall painting is one of them.
Awesome lady bug! I’m inspired to create a small magnetic version for my class. Thanks for sharing!
What a great idea – I have some larger buttons and magnetic tape it would make a great activity for J and T to do.
Cerys – your lady bug is gorgeous! I’m super inspired to buy a BIG pack of buttons!
And the story sensory box from Golden Gleam is what every kid will love. Great feature.
I’ll work on my made with love post today and most likely post tomorrow. Sorry about the delay…
Innovative and excellent ladybug!!!
