Mini Snowman Building for some Indoor Snow Day Activities Fun

With a box of snow collected from in the garden I brought it inside and set it up on a towel on the kitchen floor.

With a snowman building kit put together J and T sat down and started to play with the snow. I love this age with J (3 years and 5 months) he has his own ideas on how things should be and today’s was what was needed to build a snowman – he wanted, stones for eyes, scarf, hat and sticks for the arms we then talked about what we could use to make that and set up our snowmen building kit that way.

First making snow balls like they had in our snow bath they both loved the feel of the cold snow on their hands something that when we are outside I try and stop happening as I know that they would get cold so quickly.

Once they had made snow balls they started to put together snowmen adding two balls together and then placing on decorative snows for eyes and folded over socks to the head to make a hat.

When the kids had finished with the snow I was able to put the box back outside and then we’ve brought it inside for more fun with the freezing temperatures that we have been having.

How successful are your toddlers and preschoolers at building snowmen?
