Pizza is special in our house, as only half the family like it the other two won’t each cheese it’s made when it’s just me and my daughter so that we can share something special together. Because we don’t have it that often I make my own dough using our favourite pizza dough recipe in the bread maker and then we try out different types of pizza and toppings based on what we fancy and what we have available. So based on our experiments I’ve put together some that we loved and some that are next on our list of Homemade Pizza Recipes you Need to try with your family too.

Homemade Pizza Recipes for Families

The first pizza that I introduced my daughter to was a simple, fairly plain pizza like this Homemade Margherita from A Beautiful Plate.

One of my favourites is a Stuffed Crust Pizza and with simple and easy to follow recipe instructions the one from Sally’s Baking Addiction is one that has worked every time we’ve tried it.

Meat Lovers Pizza Recipes

BBQ chicken is always good in this house and as we make our own BBQ sauce in the summer months this Homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza from Sally’s Baking Addiction we switch out the store bought sauce and use our own.

A great Friday Night pizza for the whole family to enjoy Cheesesteak from Baked by Rachel perfect for sharing with friends.

When asked for my order if we are in a rush and get a takeaway there is always one thing I have and it’s not everyone’s favourite but Hawaiian is my pizza of choice so I had to try this Homemade Hawaiian pizza from Sally’s Baking Addiction

We even managed to get my husband trying as he does like his food a little spicy so we made up a Buffalo Chicken Pizza from Kitchen Swagger and on his we skipped the cheese. Perfect for him and he loved it – still not got my son trying it but we’re working on it.

Chicken is one of the meats that both of us like and we also get the meat from the local butchers so it’s really tasty and fresh. This Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza from Just a Pinch tastes great and we may add a little more mozzarella to it than suggested.

Once upon a time, this would have been my favourite but now I have to avoid seafood however if you can eat it then this Shrimp Scampi Pizza from Cooking with Curls looks amazing.

Love a BLT sandwich then you have to try this BLT Pizza from Bev Cooks – same flavours with the added cheese.

A classic one from the takeaway menu Pepperoni Pizza with homemade sauce from Cooking Classy.

Vegetarian Pizza Recipes

I used to avoid Pizzas with anything green on them. They just didn’t seem to work until I tried this Roasted Garlic Spinach White Pizza from Eat Good 4 Life which switched my view and now I love adding baby spinach leaves to pizza and even tried adding some peppery rocket from the garden last summer.

After visiting Italy I can say that the best pizzas are made there – but I really love New York Style Pizzas like this recipe from Baker by Nature is far better than the frozen variety we get at the supermarket here in the UK.

I’m a thick crust pizza fan I love the dough part it, but one of my friends will not touch it so when she visits I make either a Thin Crust Two Cheese White Pizza by Baked by Rachel and share.

Vegetarians look away now – this meat lover’s pizza from Baked by Rachel would be my husband’s idea of heaven (minus the cheese of course!)

A very veggie pizza is this Spinach and Artichoke version from Cooking Classy

Pizza’s with a difference

Another mash-up of the family favourites – Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza from The Girl Who Ate Everything.

Or how about using your slow cooker to make pizza in – yes it’s possible head over to 3 Boys and a Dog to find out the full recipe for Crockpot Pizza

Pizza for Breakfast

And I don’t mean just eating the leftovers from the fridge – these recipes are perfect for eating at the start of the day to keep the energy going until lunch time.

Hashbrowns, bacon, peppers and eggs this Breakfast Pizza from Baked by Rachel sounds just like the perfect cooked breakfast to me.

Leave the traditional pizza base behind and make this Tater Tot Breakfast Pizza from The Gunny Sack.

Pizza for Dessert

So you have traditional pizza, meat lover’s pizzas, veggie pizza, pizza’s with a difference even for breakfast. But no list would be complete without pizza for dessert.

Swap out the tomato sauce and mozzarella for some sweet alternatives and try this Fruit Pizza from Cooking Classy.

If you have an even sweeter tooth then ditch the fruit and serve up this Cinnamon Crumb Dessert Pizza from Creations by Kara.
