We’re just getting into Jigsaw’s in a big way here and were lucky enough to receive two Grafix floor puzzles to review from Grafix. It’s been great playing with the jigsaws with J and T.
First off is a GIANT anaimal alphabet floor puzzle with 30 pieces J has loved playing with this. Pops started off playing with him getting him to tell him the alphabet in order and then they looked for the animals that started with each letter as they went through putting it together.
This puzzle is great for preschoolers who are starting to learn the alphabet it also helps with letter recognition and is a great start to working on larger puzzles. The pieces are sturdy (they are surviving with no problems T who is 20 months old and likes to help build the puzzles as well) and are a great way to start introducing children who maybe used to peg puzzles or shaped puzzles about putting jigsaws together starting around the outside and then filling in the middle.
The second puzzle is a Grafix Nursery Rhyme and Story Book circle floor puzzle. I’ve been using this mostly with T – because each puzzle has 5 separate mini puzzles included we’re using this as a starting to do jigsaws activity with T. Using one at a time we’re putting together the 2 piece story or rhyme picture and then the 4 piece centre puzzle and then joining it together.
This puzzle is really great to work with young children on – particular the nursery rhyme puzzle is great for toddler, we spend time singing the rhymes and putting the puzzles together. With the possibility of making 2, 4, 10 and 12 piece puzzles with the set it’s really good to work up to bigger puzzles and get an understanding of how puzzles are put together.
These puzzles and other great Grafix products can be brought from Amazon, Toy ‘r’ us and your local toy retalier.
We recieved these puzzles to review however all thoughts and words are our own.
