Easy Christmas Chocolate Bark to Cook with Kids

Quick and easy is sometimes good especially if you are a busy mum or the kids want to cook something NOW! This Christmas Chocolate Bark with M&Ms is perfect for a quick and simple Christmas recipe to cook with the kids, yes even your little toddlers can do it but with a little more help than the big kids. So here you go a simple recipe for Chocolate Bark with M&Ms to cook with kids.

Chocolate Bark

When I say this recipe for Christmas Bark is easy I mean it’s really easy. You’re just going to need 2 ingredients and a few minutes together in the kitchen to make.

Then it’s sit down and watch your favourite Christmas movie together whilst it all sets then enjoy!

Ingredients for Christmas Chocolate Bark

The joy of this recipe is that you are only going to need 2 ingredients. Yes just two.

The first is some milk chocolate chips or buttons. I’ve started buying chocolate buttons from our refill store and they are perfect for making this recipe.

Then some Christmas M&Ms, you can buy special packs but you could also just pick out the red and green from a normal pack to use in the recipe.

Melting the Chocolate for the Christmas M&M Bark

There are 2 methods of melting the chocolate. With the kids, I tend to use the microwave method as it’s a lot safer.

BUT, if you don’t have a microwave then you can do it with a double boiler.

What is a double boiler

Basically a pan with water and a heat-safe bowl over the top.

You want to make sure that the water doesn’t touch the base of the bowl.

Then put the chocolate into the bowl and heat the water below. Stir the chocolate until melted.

Whichever way you choose it’s ever so simple to get the chocolate melted for this recipe.

Easy Chocolate M&M Christmas Bark

Equipment

  • Microwave
  • Baking Tray

Ingredients
  

  • 320 g milk chocolate chips
  • 200 g M&Ms pick the red and green for the most Christmas feel

Instructions
 

  • Line a baking tray with parchment or greaseproof paper.
  • Pour the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Remove and stir well. Repeat until the chocolate is fully melted. (see above for none microwave method)
  • Pour chocolate onto the parchment lined baking sheet and spread until it’s about just under 1cm thick.
  • Top with M&Ms all over.
  • Place in the fridge for 1 hour, then break apart the bark into pieces and store in an airtight container.
