My parents have done it and I lived with just this as energy for 3 years (well apart from a candle when needed) what am I talking about – Solar Engery. We haven’t switched yet because of the costs associated with it although it is in our minds and after hearing about the savings we can make up to 45% of our electricity bill it’s something to look for as we plan for the future and SunEdison Energy Savers Plan are looking to help you do it.
I spend a lot of time talking with the kids about energy use and saving energy as well as renewable energy sources, the process to extract coal, oil and gas is damaging to the environment and these resources will not last forever. Where I worked in Costa Rica they have succeed, 12 months without using any fossil fuels for electricity in their country – instead using the power of solar, wind, wave, water and thermal to power the nation. It’s a long way off before the UK does it this way, but we can move forward home by home and street by street.
SunEdison is looking for your street to be at the forefront of this and to become #BritiansBrightStreet and save money as well a help to protect the earth resources. They are looking for 5 to 20 households on a street who will join together and receive 10 years of SunEdison’s Energy Saver Plan FREE. That’s free installation and no ongoing costs for 10 years. But whilst they are doing that for you and your neighbours as #BritiansBrightStreet they will also be supporting a local school or community project that can have FREE solar panels as well – click on the link above to find our whether your street has got what it takes and enter the search.
Now 45% savings on electricity bills per year doesn’t sound that much, but take an average medium sized house in the UK – according to my research and from our own bills it’s around £1150 a year so 45% of that saved with the use of solar panels is saving £517.50 a year, that family holiday is looking more likely with those savings. But even in a small house or flat where the average UK electricity bill is around £800 that’s still saving £360 a year.
Gather together between 5 and 20 of your neighbours and rally the spirit of the 1950’s street parties and join forces to save money and help the planet whilst you enter the search to be #BritainsBrightestStreet with SunEdison’s Enegery Savers Plan.
