U is for Under, over, in and on
We are back with this week’s Back to Basics and it’s the letter U – this week we are looking at Under, Over, in and on – so many fun things to do with stuff and ourselves especially for the youngest members of the family. As always Back to Basics is happily sponsored by Zulily UK – my go to place for a daily window shop of beautiful things for mum, kids and babies (although I did buy a dress for T this week).
What better way to get under than to build an indoor fort or den. A couple of chairs, a table even the back of the sofa and a sheet and you can have a den – what it turns into is up to you – does it become the canopy of the rainforest, or a den to read books together in, their and your imagination can take you many places under the covers of a home made den.
Create a homemade obstacle course with cushions, pillows and bean bags get the kids going over different things using different types of movements – or combine it with under and in as you work your way around the house.
In and on
Get in the box, get out the box – yes it’s that game that all babies tend to do. T’s favourite was our laundry basket which she spent hours dragging around and getting in and out of over and over again. But why not get in a tunnel and go through or find any even bigger box and get in it and let your imagination go wild turning the box into a rocket ship or a car.
We are nearing the end of the Back to Basics series with only v, w, x, y and z left to go.
