Kicking Games and Activities for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Back to Basics and this week is K is for Kicking

Kicking FunSuch a simple activity – kicking a ball around. We have soft balls that we use inside and then various size of balls for the garden. J loves kicking and has turned our swing into his goal posts – we’re still working on the not picking up the ball and running around the garden with it part way through a game but it’s a lot of fun.

It’s great to work on gross movement and eye cordination as well. With J walking late (18 months) this is something that I have been concerned with at times and playing kicking games in the garden builds his confience and helps with his development as well.

A Mom with a Lesson Plan has a great DIY Kick Jug fantastic for play and also great for learning letters and words.

  1. Great idea for a series. It’s eh to forget how important the simple things are especially with younger children.
