2-ingredient Puff Pastry Mince Pie Stack Party Bites

One of my favourite Christmas recipes is mine pies and we have made them with the children since they were young as part of our Christmas Celebrations. However, sometimes we want something a little bit more than the kid made one and this week I tried out a really easy recipe to make some bite-sized Mince Pies using just 2 ingredients perfect if you are hosting a Christmas Party and need a quick treat to make to serve the guests.

Check out our no roll pastry recipe to make easy Mince Pies with the kids.

Mince Pies

The Mince Pie is a traditional Christmas treat not filled with minced meat but instead a delicious blend of dried fruits and spices. The pies date back to the 13th century and have been served around Christmas time in the UK ever since although original containing meat, suet and dried fruits it was during the Tudor time that spices were introduced as these were holy and with Mince Pies being served at Christmas time the spices were to honour the gift for the Magi.

Interestingly during the English Civil War Mince Pies were banned by the Puritans due to their Catholic Symbolism and it wasn’t until Charles II took over that the law banning them and other Christmas celebrations were revoked.

I love our collection of basic baking trays – with different sizes it means that I have lots of options of what to use and also can be making 2 or 3 different items at once.

I’ve recently made the switch to using reusable baking tray liners instead of greaseproof paper or silicone coated paper as a way to save money and make our kitchen a little less wasteful with paper.

I love serving our Christmas Treats on decorative plates and have a Christmas Tree Shaped Plate as well as a Star Shaped Plate.

If you are looking for something to allow your guests to serve themselves them you could present your mince pie stacks on this beautiful Star Cake Stand. Perfect for some Christmas themed party time.

  1. These are a blast from Christmases past. My mother made mince pies every Christmas. So, what is a little girl from Arizona’s Wild, Wild West doing eating mince pies? They are in my DNA! My ancestral lines are from Northern England and Scotland. My maiden name is Sherwood, I had an ancestor beheaded on the steps of York Cathedral (Thomas Welbourne) and another ancestor the famous Jacobite from clan MacGregor. Any whoo… I LOVE this easy recipe!

  2. These puff pastry party bites were perfect for Thanksgiving Day appetizers. Everyone raved about them! I’ve already promised to make them again for Christmas Eve.

  3. Your photos are beautiful!! I’ve heard of mince pie, but never tried it. I just might after this. It looks nothing like what I pictured.

    1. This is a twist on the traditional mince pies – The original recipe is more mini apple pie looking. They both taste amazing though.
