Playing with the senses is one of the ways that children learn about the world around them – they can also help them learn concepts like maths as well as bring literacy alive through sensory play. This week we’re featuring some ideas for Summer Sensory Play for Tots linked up to last weeks Tuesday Tots.
First off a fun water based sensory play from Fantastic Fun for Learning with a Duck Race.
Another fun water based sensory play was a little creative play we had with some ice paints the other week.
Bring literacy alive with a book based Sensory Bin for the book Play with Me from Stir the Wonder.
Create an ocean sensory small world play that is edible ideal for summer and even the youngest children that put everything in their mouths.
Create a sensory play based around a child’s interest like this Meerkat Manor Sensory Bin from Adventures with Adam.
Try some edible messy summer sensory play with our instant pudding and ice sensory play.
If you need more ideas then Kitchen Floor Crafts has 3 sensory play ideas with shells.
Living Montessori Now has a great practical life sensory bin for 2 – 4 year olds and explains how to set it up as well as some fantastic extension ideas for the bin.
Welcome back to another week of Tuesday Tots – I really look forward to checking out your posts that are linked up each week and featuring them here on Rainy Day Mum.
