Teaching Children the real meaning behind Christmas is so important, and books that talk about the Nativity should be part of your Christmas reading with your children, todays book for Story book advent Room for a Little One which Danielle from Mom Inspired Life shares with us and brings alive is one such story, a beautiful book retelling the Nativity story from the perspective of the animals in the stable, the Kind Ox taking on the role of the Inn Keeper inviting in the animals that need shelter from the harsh winter, each animal settles into the stable where we know that eventually the inn keeper will lead Mary and Joseph, and then they arrive with their donkey to shelter for the night, and over that night a child is born.
Retelling the story through play or props to encourage children to act out the story is so important to develop their comprehension and story telling language, today’s activity is retelling the story through puppets, these are simple to make and Danielle over at Mom Inspired Life has full step by step instructions for making them and alternatives as well.
