With a new school year, it’s time to introduce this year’s Virtual Book Club for Kids – our monthly series connecting and creating with books for kids. Each month we will be sharing 1 of 3 books by a popular children’s author, and bringing the books alive through creative activities, crafts and learning for kids aged between 2 and 5.
I’m so excited by the selection of authors this year – there’s a real mix of some of our old favourites and a couple that are new to me. I can’t wait to read with the kids this year and get creative bringing you ideas to bring the alive. We’re also changing up things a bit. The club is still organized by myself – Cerys, Kristina from Toddler Approved and Kim from The Educators’ Spin On It and we’re being joined by a fabulous selection of bloggers who I will be introducing you to over the coming months.
This year we will be sharing our ideas on the 2nd Thursday of the month with a new author each month (although you may see other ideas based around the books and the author throughout the month on Rainy Day Mum and the other sites). Instead of the group of Virtual Book Club for Kids bloggers having a wide selection of books for each author, to make it more useful for you we’ve chosen the 3 best books in our opinion from the authors.

The featured books
Each month I will be sharing a creative activity based around 1 of 3 books by the authors listed above. The books that have been chosen are popular and fun to read with kids ages 2 and 5. Kids love the themes of these books, and they provide great inspiration for parents and teachers to extend upon with their kids. Affiliate links are included below, these do not cost you anything more but a small percentage of the sales through these links helps to support the running of Rainy Day Mum.
