With only a couple of weeks left of the school holiday, there is a little bit of me that wants to get the kids back to some more focused learning activities and I’ve got the perfect solution. EdPlace is running a summer camp for kids from Key Stage 1 to 4 with 6 themed weeks.
The weeks are split into Science, Maths, and English and with two weeks of each focus, there are lots of ideas to choose from. In fact this week I’m the “teacher” on site for Garden Week.
Way back before the kids arrived I worked as a teacher, marine biologist, and environmental educator. I love getting kids out and hands on learning and this week I have put together two fun really simple ideas that the kids and you can together.
The first creating a bug hotel is ideal for Primary aged kids, the second a pitfall trap is aimed at secondary aged students. However, with a little extension or simplification both of the activities can be tailored to your own kids.
Why don’t you head over to EdPlace to discover the ideas and see what other resources this education site for parents has to offer?
