Fun Painting Techniques for Under 5’s

Last weeks Tuesday Tots featured over 100 ideas and some great new Painting Techniques to try with your tots. We love painting, but unless we’re printing with something to hand (like our toy animals) we tend to stick to brushes. Three painting techniques stood out to me  and I’m featuring them this week.

First off is some natural painting techniques from Mummy Musings and Mayhems with seed pod stamping – I can’t wait to try this in our autumn when we have seed heads again and will be growing some poppies this year for their seed head patterns in our garden.

Lastly is giving kids real painting tools to get painting from Miss Courtney Meets Bobo – this looks such a lot of fun and reminds me of the fence painting that we did with J when he was just under 2.

  1. We haven’t painted with seed pods yet – we’ll have to give that one a try. We did try different varieties of evergreen over the holidays, which was interesting.

  2. They look like great ways to paint – that are a bit different

  3. These painting techniques look like a lot of fun. We have been experimenting with different techniques lately, too. Some of our favorites have been painting with pine needles and “pop” painting with unpopped corn kernels.
