Easy Bruschetta recipe to make with Kids

With all the cooking we do the kids are asking to cook more food and making healthy snacks that they will enjoy is part of this. We love pizza’s, but they take a time to make so following the Italian influence and one of my favourite appetizers, an Easy Bruschetta Recipe with them mixing and matching their own ingredients.

Red Onion

Basil

Mozzarella

Salami

Parmesan Cheese

Making Easy Bruschettas with kids

First, we cut up the bread together into thick slices that the kids would enjoy eating. Then we tore up the mozzarella into chunks and peeled the onion.

The kids then set about chopping the ingredients. Soft fruit like tomatoes can be more tricky for kids to chop than some of the harder fruit so we helped T first off showing her to start with the point of the knife into the tomato and then move it down chopping the tomato.

T then finished chopping the tomatoes herself and we helped her with the other ingredients.

With everything in dishes, she set about making up her bruschettas adding what she wanted to the as did her friends and ourselves.

We then put them on a cookie sheet and under the grill until the cheese melted on the bruschettas with cheese.

Quick and Easy Bruschetta Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Tomatoes
  • Salami
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 Red Peper
  • Mozzarella
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • French Stick

Instructions
 

  • Chop the french stick
  • Chop up the ingredients and place in separate dishes
  • Construct the bruschettas – get each child to make their own with their favourites from the ingredients
  • Place under a grill until the cheese is melted
  • Serve

  2. This was a fantastic recipe to make with friends. We enjoyed serving them with wine, cheese and a variety of meats. So yummy!

  3. We love bruschetta! I really like the idea of involving the kids, or even handing this recipe over to my older kids. Looks delicious!
