DIY Nutcracker Photo Booth Props

So good to be part of this year’s Storybook Advent on Rainy Day Mum!! I am thrilled to share our idea for Nutcracker Photo Booth Props!

A must have for your Nutcracker themed party these DIY Nutcracker photo booth props can be made and then used to capture those Christmas Memories

I use photo props all the time, I love them! Somehow with a small addition of a hat, mustache or sign you  set the scene, give the photo context, add a theme and some fun without much effort at all, especially if the photo props are free and downloadable!

The Nutcracker has a long and rich history. Now the most popular ballet in the world, The Nutcracker’s origin is a story written in 1816 by E.T.A. Hoffman called The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, in which young Marie Stahlbaum’s favorite Christmas toy – The Nutcracker – comes alive after defeating the evil Mouse King in a battle that whisks her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls. Later in 1892 it was adapted by Tchaikovsky, Petipa and Ivanov into a ballet that is still performed around the world at Christmas time!

Over the years The Nutcracker has become synonymous with Christmas so what better way to set the theme in your holiday photos than making and using these wonderful photo prop printables!

Nutcracker Photo Prop Instructions:

  • There are 3 photo prop templates each on their own A4 page.
    • Nutcracker Crown
    • Sugar Plum Fairy Tiara
    • Mouse King
  • You can print all 3 or one, as you wish.
  • We printed one of each.
  • Cut out the templates, an older child can do this themselves
  • Color and decorate until your photo props are shiny and colorful and ready to go!A must have for your Nutcracker themed party these DIY Nutcracker photo booth props can be made and then used to capture those Christmas Memories
  • Finally add a wooden stick to the back side. If your child is right handed stick this on the back right, if left handed stick it on the back left – it just makes it easier for them! You can stick this on with hot glue or a piece of tape.A must have for your Nutcracker themed party these DIY Nutcracker photo booth props can be made and then used to capture those Christmas Memories
  • If your photo prop has been adorned with tons of jewels it may get to heavy for one stick at the side to hold up. You can either place a stick on both sides or reinforce horizontally with another wooden stick.

That should do it! Perfect Christmas themed photos and craft activity in one!
