Christmas Craft Supplies for Toddlers and Preschoolers

This Glitter Glue Set of 24 with Red, Blue, Purple, Green, Silver and Gold is great from Baker Ross it’s easy for Toddlers and Preschoolers to squeeze out – unlike a lot that we have tried (and I have tried a LOT).

Stock up on your Red and Green Card although you may like blue christmas, pink make sure you have a stock of Red and Green card for trees, Santa and backing for Christmas Cards.

You probably have poster (tempera) paints already at home, but if you want to make Salt Dough or Clay decorations for your tree or some gifts for your family and friends then some Pearlised Acrylic Paint and Metallic Acrylic Paintare essential, they won’t peel off and they will add that extra sparkle to your child’s creations.

Make sure you have some White, Red and Brown Wool for creating some fun pom pom creations for your tree and decorations.

Some craft felt is great for making decorations, Christmas cards, puppets and stockings for children to decorate. I personally love using felt as it’s easy to sew – how about hole punching to toddlers and preschoolers can thread through the holes as a first sewing project but can also be glued and sewn normally.

Get some Polystyrene balls and you can create your own baubles with some glue, glitter and ribbon, or how about using them to make some snowmen. Paint them with Acrylic Paints and they won’t peel and the paint will stick. Or use PVA (white) glue and some deco-patch or scrap-booking papers and create your own vintage looking ornaments.

Although I’ve mentioned Glitter Glue above you will also need to stock up on glitter and go large it will save you money in the long run. Buy large tubs of Silver, Gold, Red and Green Glitter Tub and you can then use them for all your Christmas crafts. Put a tray underneath you glitter work and shake on – with any excess why not create your own multicoloured glitter pot with the left overs – put into a tub and save for using again.

With toddlers and preschoolers who are yet to master cutting with scissors then a Snow Flake Punch is a great way to get them to start cutting out their own snowflakes for adding to crafts and pictures.

Yes they are Tinsel Pipe Cleaners and a great addition to your standard pipe cleaners that are already in your craft kits, you can create some fantastic decorations, use them with your pom poms that you made to create sparkly arms for snowmen and lots of other crafts (tinsel on felt Christmas trees for cards as well once cut).

You’ve probably got pom poms already in your crafting kit so add to them for some Christmas crafting with some Glitter Pom Poms you can use them to create sparkly snowmen pictures, add to Santa’s hats and all sorts of other crafts.

These are my 10 essential Christmas Craft Supplies for Toddlers and Preschoolers – I make sure that I have them stocked up ready for the festive season and then at the end of the year put them into a storage box and at the bottom of our craft cupboard so if needed I can get them out but they are all ready for next year’s Christmas Crafting.

Do you have any Christmas Craft Supplies essentials that I have missed out?
